Haute Movements: A Looking into the Art of Pole with Diana

Updated: Sep 18, 2021

"I was very awkward and self-conscious before I took pole classes. Pole dancing helped me tune into my feminine energy by forcing me to step out of my comfort zone. It shifts the focus from how your body looks to what your body can do, making you feel more confident because you know you can do amazing things! "

"[...]female sensuality has been shamed and repressed throughout history. Pole dancing embraces this energy and provides an outlet of self-expression and creativity for those who practice it. Overall, it feels very empowering."

" I started taking pole classes a few months before my 18th birthday and at the time, I was very insecure and self-conscious about my body and my personality. I struggled with social anxiety and didn’t really know who I was or who I wanted to be. Pole helped me become the confident, strong and empowered woman I am today. It really changed my life!"

"My best advice to someone who is just starting out would be to never give up and never compare your progress to others. Pole is challenging and painful, and it takes a lot of practice but determination is key!"

"Besides pole art, my career goal is to become a licensed psychotherapist and help women who struggle with anxiety. I completed my Psychology undergraduate degree in 2019 at McGill University and am currently working as a research assistant before I start my Masters."
