A Haute Features Exclusive: with Monica Kinzel & Hutton Lloyd Photography by Sierra Stone & Nikki Webster
Stay true to who you are, know your worth and be confident! You’re always going to have people who don’t like you or criticize you, so you might as well do what makes you happy and focus on the people who support you!

I want to help others feel confident, I have been down before, and done a lot of self work in order to get where I am. Everyone is beautiful in different ways - that’s what makes humans so cool in my opinion.

I think, like a lot of people, I struggle with being perceived a certain way and that’s something I need to let go of. I'm also not that active on social media, it just doesn’t come naturally to me, but that’s something I’m trying to work on. I’d like to the world to view me for who I truly am but I realize, with all perceptions, people see you through their own eyes of experience.

It can be hard when you compare yourself to other women, there’s millions of beautiful girls out there, but sometimes you have to take a step back and realize what makes you special. I’d like to work on not letting jealousy get the best of me, and focus more on appreciating another persons work/art.

I think my success so far has come from listening to others advice/tips and working on my self-image. Modelling can be a tough industry if you don’t have a strong sense of self. I’d want the world to view me for who I really am. I hope to be someone people enjoy working with, and letting my outlook on life/creativity be something others can appreciate, or even relate to.

I have so many goals for my life, most importantly travel, I love seeing new places and meeting people from all over the world! I spent several months abroad modelling in Istanbul, Turkey. I’m also in the process of getting my citizenship in the Czech Republic, which is where my dad is from. I’m considering going to university in Europe. Once travel restrictions are lifted I would like to continue modelling internationally. Aside from that I’d like to get as many publications as I can in 2021.

I do always try to communicate with whoever I’m working with so there’s a clear image/plan so we can figure out how to make that come to life in a way together. I try to voice my concerns and make sure my comfort level is never over stepped. The thing with photos is once they are taken it’s hard to take them back. So I always try to think before executing.

I work as a nanny and have lots of little girls that look up to me, and who watch what I do. So I always try to keep them in mind. But it’s important to me to be myself, and being a woman is wonderful, we are so powerful.
I have to also say working as a nanny has helped me realize the impact we can all make in the world as well. The kids I look after (I’ve been doing it for 4 years, so lots of different girls) taught me so much. They are all such beautiful souls that really helped me find my way in life. Even though they are young, they have the best outlook on life, and I think a lot of us could benefit from that youthful energy.
I want to get my early childhood education diploma and then eventually get in to social work or child psychology. I like helping others and hopefully will make an impact on the world!"
